From the centre of Kendal, following the one way system along Highgate, turn left at the central traffic lights next to the Town Hall. Signposted Underbarrow, continue along Allhallows Lane, Beast Banks and Greenside and over the bridge across the Kendal bypass. The road continues over Scout Scar, dropping into the village.
